Todd Lowther Obituary

Todd Arthur Lowther, 74, passed away on October 31, 2021 in Charlotte, NC, and would have considered it the greatest joke ever that he left us on Halloween (his least favorite day of the year). His service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC at 5:00 PM EST. Todd was born on March 13, 1947 in Golden, CO, to Arthur and Jane Lowther. He was a graduate of Golden High School’s Class of 1965, and earned a B.A. in English and Psychology from University of Northern Colorado. He later earned his Masters in Education from Colorado State University, and taught for 12 years as a revolutionary English and Journalism teacher in Clear Creek County. After leaving pedagogy, Todd became the director of Easterseals Colorado in Rocky Mountain Village, where he discovered his immense passion and talent for special needs advocacy. He devoted the rest of his career to the Arc of Jefferson County as their executive director, before retiring at age 60. After retirement, Todd settled in Fort Mill, SC with his wife Paula, daughters LiLi and JaneGrace, and an abundance of furry friends. There are not enough words to fully encapsulate the meaning that Todd brought into the countless lives he touched, but he is immortalized through the brilliance, wisdom, humor, leadership, and love that he poured into his family, friends, and community. Throughout his life, Todd also had a great love and appreciation for music, and is fondly remembered for his involvement with the Carpetbaggers, the No Name Band, and the Eternal Church worship team. Being a naturally gifted vocalist, guitarist, banjo player, and songwriter, Todd’s music will forever resonate in our spirits. Todd is survived by his wife Paula, daughters Sarah, Hannah, LiLi, and JaneGrace, son Nathan, grandchildren Jordan, Aedan, Andy, Ryanne, and Davis, step-grandchildren Collin and Carson, dogs Snow and Bear, cats Luna, Daphne, and Chloe, and parakeet Tweetie.
