Timothy Bennett Obituary

Timothy Michael Bennett of Rock Hill, SC was called to a glorious healing Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Timmy was preceded in death by his father Sam Bennett Sr. and his aunt Anne R. Waldron.

Timmy was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved working with children and teaching them about God's love through the Awana program and LakeSports. He coached soccer and baseball through Rock Hill Parks and Recreation, too. Among his many friends are those he worked with at Comporium. He worked there as an auto mechanic and generator technician for 22 years.

He is survived by his wife and heart, Debbie Collins Bennett and their children Timothy Collins Bennett and Courtney Lynn Bennett; his older brother Sammy and wife Tracey Bennett and their children Rossie Kathryn, Rebekah and Chase; his twin brother Eddie and wife Melissa and their children Mabry and Mason; his mother Jean Roy and his mother-in-love Carol St. Clair; his father-in-love Sonny Collins and his wife Rhonda. His sister-in-love Rhonda Collins Christopher and husband Josh and their children Cameron and Lane; his sister-in-love Lisa Collins Berry and her husband Don. His niece Heather Anderson and her husband Tim and their children Lacey, Mason, Kennedy and Maddie. His niece Leslie Collins and her sons Liam and Logan.

His uncles E. Patrick Roy, Timothy K. Roy and Michael A. Roy, and Gary Waldron. His aunt Nora Sue Roy. His uncle James O. Jr and wife Joyce Bennett. His numerous cousins from both sides of the family.

He leaves a large family with lots of cousins and numerous friends to carry on, knowing that whatever comes our way "God's got this." Timmy loved life and loved his family and recognized that all of it was a gift from God. He loved the outdoors and if you look around, you can share a piece of the glory of God. "The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1.

We will miss Timmy so much, but we know he believed Jesus Christ died for his sins. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16. Timmy is in the presence of the Lord and we will join him one day.

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit." I John 4:7-13.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to doctors, nurses and staff at Piedmont Medical Center and the Medical University of South Carolina. The tears on the faces of Timmy's nurses speak of the excellent care he received. The medical staff on 9-East hold a special place in our hearts.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Rev 21:4.

We will celebrate Timmy's life at visitation on Friday, July 10 from 6-8pm at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and with a funeral service on Saturday, July 11 at 11:00 at Lakewood Baptist Church, Rock Hill with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York.
