April 27, 2022 9:54 AMI have so many memories of the friendship with my friend, Rick Winn.
In 1970 Rick and I went to the beach. We stayed at his uncles house. Rick taught me how to find shark's teeth. We were also in a small Rock & Roll Band. Rick's dad spent time with us taking us places. We went to a race in Rockingham together.
In 1977, Rick and I went to Statesville to pick up lumber to build our houses. Mine on Springdale Road and his on Winn Ridge. His father in law (Jim Evans) let us use his dump truck and low boy. What a friend he will always be.
Rick loved dressing up as Santa Claus. for Providence Church. One year we switched places. I filled in for him as Santa . When Rick walked in everyone wondered who Santa was.
Rick will always hold a special place in my life, He had a great smile and was soft spoken. He was a great family man and Christian. He lived his life to the fullest.
My condolences to his wife, children, mother, brothers and sister. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
