Miriam Baker Stricklin, 59, of Tega Cay, SC, and formerly of Greenville, SC, sadly left us on February 2nd, 2024, following a long battle with Type 1 Diabetes. She was born on November 14th, 1964, in Abbeville, SC, the second daughter of Robert L. Baker and Jimmie Glenn Baker.
Miriam was widely known as one of the sweetest women anyone had met. Those fortunate enough to spend time with her would also describe her as one of the funniest, too. She brought immense joy to her family and friends. Her husband referred to her as one awesome wife. Since her diabetes diagnosis at 29, she fought tenaciously to care for herself while balancing the responsibilities of raising two children. Miriam’s strength was exceptional. She emerged stronger after each setback, persistently fighting to remain present for her family. She will be remembered for her resilience in the face of adversity.
Miriam is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Baker Boles, her husband Kevin, her children Hunter and Caroline, and her grandson Lukas.
A funeral service will be held in her honor at 2:00pm on February 10th, 2024 at Palmetto Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life at the Tega Cay Shore Club.
