Melba McClintock Simmers

Melba McClintock Simmers, age 67, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Atrium Health Pineville.

Anyone that knew Libby knew she was all about her babies.She loved her kids and grandbabies. Her grandkids were her world and she would light up talking about them babies. 

She enjoyed crocheting and making scarfs for everyone. 

MawMaw Libby was the kind of person you could always depend on and when she said she was your friend she truly meant that. If you were having a bad day and just needed someone to talk to, she would listen. She was always making someone smile or laugh no matter if you were having a bad day or not. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and her family. She enjoyed having the grandkids spend the night with her and she would always take them to Wal-Mart and play board games with them. 

She loved Western movies and cooking for her family.  Our mom made the best salmon patties around! I know I'm going to miss eating them. She would cook salmon patties, home potatoes and onions with some pinto beans and homemade biscuits and that was one of the best meals around.

She loved to cook with her grandbabies too. She would tell two of her grandkids, even though they are half yankee, she wanted to make sure they got some southern cooking. 

Libby was a special soul and we know she is rejoicing with her loved ones in heaven waiting on the rest of us when our time comes. 

A native of Rock Hill, Melba is the daughter of Lyle Sanders and Louise McClintock. 

She is survived by two sons, Michael Jackson and Thomas Bailey; her daughter, Amy Jackson; grandsons, Nathan Nance, Ross Bailey, Tryden Gillespie, Trey Rogers and Cooper Moore and granddaughters, Brianna Nance, Madison McCluney, Phoebe Bailey, Elisha Moore, Hanna Rogers and Camden Rogers.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Park Ridge Baptist Church, 5099 Trotter Ridge Court, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
