Obituary

Karen Thomas (Hawke) was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She passed August 16, 2023 at Wellmore Memory Care. 

Karen was born in Chippewa Falls, WI to Ben and Amy Hawke, and lived in a variety of cities in the Midwest, Baltimore, Phoenix, and ultimately Fort Mill where she moved in 2017 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren.  Karen dedicated her life to caring for others, especially through her career in healthcare.  Karen had many hobbies; her family and friends often benefitted from her baking and crafting abilities.  Karen loved to travel and was always up for an adventure, especially with her husband of 40 years, Mark. 

Karen is survived by Mark, her daughter Jennifer Danesis and son Alex; grandchildren Jonah and Evie; brothers Greg, David, Richard and sisters Becky and Mary.   Karen was preceded in death by her brother Jeff.    

Services to be anounced. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Memory and Movement Center of Charlotte (mmclt.org) or Via Health Partners (hpccr.org).
