James “Jimmy” Elia was born to Anthony and Grace Elia; siblings William, Barbara, Gerard and Jeffrey. Jimmy proudly served in the Marine Corps before being married. His marriage with Rosalie Mordenti blessed him with two sons, James and Larry and two grandsons Nicholas and Benjamin. He lived in NJ and worked much of his life in various capacities of the transportation industry. His second wife, Carol Greenfield, and he were married 29 years until her passing in 2021. They relocated to Kissimmee, Florida and then retired to Rutherfordton, NC. Jimmy loved his family, his dogs, listening to his favorite 60’s music and watching sports. He was especially passionate about his NY sports teams and NASCAR. His charm and fun-loving personality lit up a room. He was dearly beloved by his family, friends and all those who shared his company. He will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society or your favorite local pet rescue.
