Imogene McAbee Ruff

Imogene McAbee Ruff, age 80 of Fort Mill, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.  Born in Cleveland County, NC, on November 13, 1940, she was the daughter of late Robert Wesley and Amy Zettie Laughter McAbee and was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ruff.  Imogene was a registered nurse and worked in the industry for 59 years.  She was a faithful member of Indian Land Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.  She enjoyed helping people, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Imogene is survived by two sons, Gary and Robert, of Fort Mill, SC; a daughter, Tracy Hurston and husband Marvin of Front Royal, VA; eleven grandchildren, Mandy, Charlie, Dustin, Christa, Benjamin, Kristin, Heather, Shannon, Chico, Jon and Madi; and 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 in the chapel of Palmetto Funeral Home at 2049 Carolina Pl Dr, Fort Mill, SC, 29708.  Visitation will be at 4pm followed by the memorial service at 5pm which will also be live streamed.

There will be a short interment service at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, NC, on Friday, October 8th at 11am. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
