Helen Wagner Zakrzewski

Helen was born in Newark, NJ on December 8,1928; the daughter of Theodore and Helen Wagner. She is survived by her sons R. Robert Grondin (Karen) James Grondin (Bernice), daughter Jo Anne Grondin and her sister Florence Shaffery (Robert).

She was predeceased by her husband, Gregory  Zakrzewski  , her son Paul Grondin, sisters Marie Lucas and Elizabeth Marut and brother Joseph Wagner.

Helen accomplished much during her lifetime. She was a claims adjuster for State Farm insurance  and earned her real estate license.  She  volunteered  for many years at the local hospital, taught Catholic  education classes  at St. Philip Neri Church in Fort Mill, SC achieving the title of Faith Formation Director. She helped develop the Vintage Club in Tega Cay, SC and in her spare time loved to crochet baby blankets and afghans for family and friends.

Helen enjoyed traveling to Europe, the Middle East, Russia and across the USA.

She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended families.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church's Martha's Meals Ministry helping local shut-ins.

Family and friends may gather for a memorial mass and celebration of Helen's life at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on April 22, 2022 at 11:30 am.
