David Lamb DeVane

David L. Devane, 90, of Rock Hill, SC and formerly of Wilmington, NC, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 18, 2020 at home. He was born October 16, 1929 in Watha, NC to proud parents George and Bettie Devane.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by His Loving Wife Melva, Son George, and Brother Jimmy.

David was never one to rest on his laurels and was always looking for something to keep him busy.  He was in the Air Force when he married his beautiful bride of 67 years, Melva.  They lived on the homestead that David grew up on and raised Cows, chickens and grew vegetables a plenty. They raised three wonderful Children who helped to take care of their animals and gardens.  He worked for Carolina Power and Light as a supervisor for over 30 years and once retired he never once slowed down.  He kept busy with many volunteer opportunities, in his community and beyond.

He leaves behind a loving family, Daughter Sherry, Son Duane (Melin), Grandchildren: Laura (Nate), Steven (Adria), Adam and LeeAnn as well as Great Grandson, David. 

Due to Covid restrictions, the family will not be having a service at this time
