Concetta "Connie" Mary Russell

Concetta (Connie) Mary Russell of Fort Mill, SC sadly passed away at the age of 77 on Friday, November 25, 2022.

Connie graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Scranton, PA and later resided in Denver, CO, Endicott, NY, and moved to the Charotte, NC area in 1978 when her husband (Joe) was transferred with IBM.

Connie's energy to love and be there for other people was an undeniable gift. She was extremely proud of her family, independent, life-loving, and was a fierce little soul. She would do anything to be with her family, whether the “Sunday Dinners”, Annual Family Vacations, or School Events, you would always see her there laughing, hugging and cheering on with a big smile. She was like no other, she was truly an amazing Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.  Recently she was back to changing diapers for her Great Granddaughter (Adella), and adored the time with the newest member of the family.

Connie was born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania to Frank and Antoinette Bevilacqua on August 14th 1945. Connie went on to marry Joseph (Joe) Russell and they had 4 children together. Connie and Joe were married for 57 years. Connie is most certainly looking over her family and keeping an eye on everyone.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she will be sorely missed this and every upcoming Christmas.

While raising her four children, she also worked as an Administrative Assistant throughout the years.  Connie managed to care for her family all while becoming successful in her career. She was so confident and so much fun. She had an amazing way of making friends everywhere she went and this continued for her entire life.

Connie is survived by her  husband Joe, four children, Lisa Thompson husband Wes, Matt Russell wife Donna, Mark Russell wife Anjali, Jeff Russell wife Felicia . Also survived by her six grandchildren, Kiersten and Jake (husband), Maddie and Alex (husband), Samantha, Seneca, Finnley, Gabi, and Great Granddaughter Adella.

Connie is also survived by her long-time dear friends Carm Hair (since Kindergarten), Jim Keifer, Carole Taladay, Lance Morgan,  Sharon and Fred Selapack, and Sheila and Steve Douglas, along with a very special cousin (Joe Viola), many loving and caring Nieces and Nephews and her Brother-In-Laws Robert Russell wife Pam Nystrand, and Leroy Kullman.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Antoinette Bevilacqua, and her three sisters (Patricia Tredy, Louise Kullman and Mary Lou Rose).  We can only imagine the homecoming that Connie had with her family when she joined them in Heaven (we can only imagine all of their hugs and laughter as they are back together).

GOD most certainly gained one amazing Angel.  Rest in Peace my adorable Wife, Mother and Grandmother.  We will see you again in the most glorious Heaven!

Connie’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10th, 2022, at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Dr., Fort Mill, SC.  In honor of Connie’s love for Christmas, we’re asking all who attend to wear festive holiday colors.

Services to be held at 2:00pm, and will be available via Live Streaming for those who are not able to attend in person.
