Beatrice Amato Martin

Beatrice Amato Martin “Bea” 67 of Fort Mill, SC  peacefully passed away on June 1st, 2022, at  Atrium Hospital Pineville in the presence of her loving family.
Born December 3, 1954 in Ferrara, Italy she was the daughter of Angelo and Cristina Amato.
After moving to the United States when Bea was nine years old she enrolled into the class of 1976 at Centre College, Danville, KY where she met her husband Walter Martin.  They married in Rye New York on November 27, 1976.
A loving mother, Bea is survived by her husband Walter Martin and their children Christina Martin Sanchez (Marco Sanchez) of Miami Florida, Eleanor Martin of Fort Mill, SC and Walter Chandler Martin, Jr. (Sheena Martin) of Charleston, SC.
After raising their children Bea joined Walter and his partner Kerry Stinman in their wealth management practice at A.G. Edwards and later Morgan Stanley of Charlotte, NC.  Bea and Walter did everything together.  She loved gardening, playing tennis and golf, hiking, traveling, especially to Italy, Kiawah Island and cooking.  Bea loved her family first and foremost. She was passionate about her life but very reserved at the same time, unless you knew her.  Small in stature, Bea was a strong, determined and beautiful person who will be missed by those fortunate to have known her.
A service celebrating Bea’s life will be held on Monday June 6th 2:00 pm at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church of Fort Mill, SC.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to the Anne Springs Close Greenway, Fort Mill SC  in memory of Bea Martin or to the Levine Cancer Institute Advancement Fund online at AtriumHealthFoundation.org/tribute
