Barbara Walker

Chester, SC- Mrs. Barbara Laughridge Walker, 79, died on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at her home.

Memorial services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at The Chester Church of the Nazarene, Chester, SC.

Mrs. Walker was a native of Augusta, GA. and was a  daughter of the late Lester Thomas Laughridge and Mary Nettie Ashley Laughridge. She grew up in Laurens and was a graduate of Laurens High School. She will be remembered as a woman who loved her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and FaceBooking. She was a valued member of The VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Post 9138 James A Culp, Fort Mill, SC.

She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Ray Walker, Sr.; two sons, Tommy Curry (Darlene) of Laurens, SC, and Billy Ray Walker, Jr. (Lisa) of Chester, SC; four daughters, Beth Morris (Rick) of Cross Hill, SC, Sherrie Thompson (Tony) of Chester, SC, Kristie Long (Jarrod) of Batesburg, SC, and Kathy Walker of Cocoa Beach, FL; two sisters, Glynda Tucker of Gray Court, SC, and Connie Tricebock of Matthews, NC; fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by a son, Dennis Walker; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Johnna Marlin.
