William David Hurlocker, 81, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 6, 1944, in Charlotte, North Carolina, William was the eldest son of Willy David Hurlocker and Annie Mozelle White. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage, resilience, and deep commitment to his country.
William was known for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He had a deep appreciation for nature, a sharp wit, and a heart that welcomed everyone. William lived with integrity, kindness, and always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
William found joy in working with his hands and was rarely without a project. Whether he was building something from scratch, repairing what others thought couldn’t be fixed, he brought care and craftsmanship to everything he touched. His home was a reflection of his creativity and dedication—filled with the warmth of his handywork and the pride of a job well done.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Blackmon, and his sisters Georgia Edwards, Patsy Huggins, and Ann Huggins. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Hurlocker; his daughter Kristen Hurlocker (Theresa Imbus); and stepchildren Heather Mills (Vernon Mills) Jonathan Brazzell (Natasha Anderson) and Noah Anderson. He also leaves behind his cherished step-grandchildren: Keely\ McRae, Jace McRae, Carolina McRae, Nataya Paisley, Naysha Anderson, Nylan Anderson, and Jonathan Brazzell II.
A private memorial honoring William’s life will be held for family by invitation only.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Richardson Rescue, a cause close to William’s heart.
