William Ransom Gibson, Sr.

Rock Hill, SC – Mr. William Ransom Gibson, Sr., 87, died Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

 A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Grandview Memorial Park, Hollis Lakes with Mark Orr officiating.  

 A native of Laurens, SC Mr. Gibson was a son of the late Ransom Rush Gibson and Lillian Huggins Gibson. He was a Machinist who retired from Caraustar Inc. He served his country faithfully as a member of the United States Navy. He will be remembered as a man who loved photography, classic cars, trains and fishing. He loved family and spending time with his grandchildren. 

 Surviving are his wife of many years, Lynda Elaine McCollum Gibson; a daughter, Mitzy Blackmon (Joe); Randy Gibson (Brandy); two grandchildren, Meagan Bivins (Steven) and Carson Gibson; three great grandchildren, Puller Bivins, Camden Bivins, and Emma Claire Bivins; and several nieces and nephews.
