William Broom

March 10, 1943 — October 1, 2025

William David Broom passed away on October 1, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born March 10, 1943 where he resided in Fort Mill his entire life. William was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather to his family. He was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and manicuring his yard. His most interesting hobby was utilizing his woodworking skills to make walking canes and would freely give them to those in need. He also loved to travel but his most cherished love was spending time with his family.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Francis S. and Jeannie H. Broom, five sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Broom, sons, Davy Broom (Stephanie), Kirk Broom (Keri), 3 grandchildren, Morgan , Natalie, and Eli Broom.

A funeral service will be held Saturday October 4, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home with interment in Unity Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 am to time of service.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the hospice nurses, physicians and staff for their compassionate and supportive care that was provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Providence Care Hospice group.
