Virgil Lynn Drawdy, “Lynn” to anybody that shook his hand, went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2025. Born in Great Falls, South Carolina and residing in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Lynn was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, where he played football for the Bearcats. He was a military veteran with the Army National Guard, enlisting his services as a medical corpsman, pistol marksman, and rifle sharpshooter.
Following an Honorable Discharge, Lynn worked as a roofer, a salesman, and finally found his career as a lineman for the Fort Mill Telephone Company, where he retired as a plant supervisor for Comporium after almost forty years.
Lynn spent his golden years travelling with his wife, watching football, eating at the Rock Hill Diner, and cutting the grass, his favorite pastime. He enjoyed taking care of the home of 50 years that he built.
Lynn is preceded in death by his mother and father, Vauncille and Leroy Drawdy, his sister Sandy Thomas, and his beloved wife, Sharon Haire Drawdy. He is survived by his daughter, Mandy Drawdy (fiancé Kyle Hancock), his brother Glynn Drawdy (Becky), and his sisters Theresa Platts, Rhonda Wright (Bruce), Deloras Melton (Kenneth), and Sharon Ramsey (Alton). He was also a hit with the younger generation, being the cool uncle, great uncle, and even great-great uncle to a slew of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom he fiercely loved.
