Vincent Joseph Barone Jr., age 81, born in Galveston, Texas, passed away on April 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 16, 1944 to Vincent Joseph Sr. and Florence Barone, Vince was raised in Mantua, NJ, just outside of Philadelphia. He carried with him a lifelong love for his hometown roots and the values instilled in him there.
Brenda K. (Mills) Barone was the love of Vince’s life and his devoted wife of 49 years. The two first met at Continental General Tire, where Vince dedicated the majority of his career and built a lifetime of cherished friendships. Together, Vince and Brenda built a beautiful life centered on family, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to one another.
Vince is preceded in death by his parents Vincent Sr. and Florence Barone, sister Rose Anne and husband Michael Centuolo and brother Richard Barone. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; his sons, Vincent Joseph III and wife Taylor and Nicholas Anthony and wife Cate; and his cherished nieces, Michele and her husband Blair Pierce and Antoinette and her husband Mark Majerus.
Vince, who loved golf and bocce, remained a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers throughout his life. Following his 1996 move to Charlotte, North Carolina, he also became a loyal supporter of the Hurricanes, Panthers, and Checkers.
Known affectionately to family as “Sonny,” Vince was quick-witted and had a gift for humor. He loved to joke, especially with his wife and children, bringing laughter and warmth to those around him. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, a proud family man, and a “doggy granddad” who adored his fur babies.
Vince will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to gather in Vince’s honor at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 13th, at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, SC 29708. Interment will follow immediately at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Weddington, NC 28104.
The family invites you to share your memories of Vince and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
