Obituary

Tony Leroy White, 67, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.

Born June 28, 1958, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Tony was the son of the late James Edward White and Agnes Flynn White. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved little brother, Jeffrey Dean White.

Tony graduated from Fort Mill High School in 1976 and in 1981 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management from Clemson University Tony’s career began with the United States Department of Agriculture as a US Forester. His career in Forest Management was a perfect reflection of his deep love for the outdoors and the national forests. During his high school years, he met the love of his life, Melissa Neal. Tony and Melissa were married on May 17, 1980, and built a life together filled with love, unwavering commitment, and cherished memories. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Aileen, born in 1982 and Emily, born in 1986, who brought them great happiness and fulfillment.

Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be lovingly remembered for his steadfast faith, his kindness, his quick wit, his attentive listening and his extraordinary patience- especially raising and living with all girls. His unwavering love for his family was a constant source of strength. Those very same qualities guided him as he faced his battle with cancer, which met with courage, determination, and grace.

He was deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his beloved wife, Melissa White of Fort Mill; his daughters, Aileen Fesler (Jason) of Fort Mill; Emily West (Haines) of Rock Hill. Tony also cherished every moment spent with his precious grandchildren, Davis Miller (18), Clara West (10), and Isabelle Fesler (10). Tony’s memory will also be cherished by his mother, Agnes White of Fort Mill. His brothers Eddie White (Lora) of North SC, Ronnie White (Sheila) of Rock Hill, his sister Debbie West of Gallatin TN and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members and dear friends.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Fort Mill SC. Visitation will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, South Carolina.
