SusanDeJong 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Sun City, Carolina Lakes, Indian Land, SC on 8/15/2026. 

She was born in Passaic, NJ and lived in northern NJ before moving to SC in 2021. Susan retired from a 50-year career at the law firm of Jeffer, Hopkinson & Vogel in Hawthorne, NJ. She began her employment as a stenographer/typist and finished as the office administrator. Susan approached life with dignity and purpose, dedicating herself to excellence in all endeavors. 

She is predeceased by her parents, George and Florence Volansky and her beloved husband of 28 years, James A. DeJong. She leaves behind her dear sisters, Frances, Jean (Frank), Mary Ellen (Lowell), Elizabeth Ann and her cousin, Melissa. She is also survived by her nieces, Julia and Kate, and a great-nephew, Emmett along with many cousins and life-long friends. Susan’s family will be celebrating her life at a private gathering.
