Shirley Newman Morgan, Jr.

Rock Hill - Mr. Shirley Newman Morgan, Jr. 86, died Thursday, September 22, 2016, at CMC-Pineville.

A native of Portsmouth, VA, Mr. Morgan was a son of the late Shirley Newman Morgan, Sr. and Lucy Russell Morgan. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was an accomplished musician, he loved boating, he was a boat captain, and he and his wife lived on a boat for 12 years.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Sanborn Morgan; three sons, Shirley Newman Morgan III and his wife, Lou Morgan, Robert Wayne Morgan and his wife, Theresa Morgan, and Scott Faber and his wife, Beth Faber; a daughter, Susan Barrett and her husband, Andy Barrett; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Shirley Newman Morgan, Jr. will take place on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Grace Bible Church, 3904 Woodview Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
