It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheila Auten Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sheila went to be with the Lord on June 29th, 2026, at the age of 73.

Sheila was born on January 22nd, 1953, in Rock Hill, SC, to the late Ottis and Carrie Auten.

Sheila dedicated much of her professional life to Comporium in Rock Hill, SC, from where she eventually retired after many years of loyal service. Her commitment and kindness extended beyond her career and into her community and church.

Sheila was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Mill, where she sang joyously in the choir and participated actively in the Women's Ministry. She treasured her time with friends and family, always making sure those around her knew they were loved.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce C. Brown of Fort Mill, SC; her daughter Shannon Cain and son-in-law Jeff Cain; and her grandson, Elisha Baker. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Carrie Auten, and her brother, Keith Auten.

Family and friends are invited to honor Sheila’s life at a visitation on July 2nd, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, held at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home, located at 700 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29730. A memorial service will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Women's Ministry at First Baptist Church or to support Parkinson's research.
