Sara Eugene (Gray) Merritt

Fort Mill – Mrs. Sara Eugene Gray Merritt, 67, died Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Atrium Health Pineville, Charlotte, NC.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1824 Airport Road, Lancaster, SC 29720, with the Rev. Debra Whiteside officiating.

Born in Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Merritt was a daughter of the late Elam Beverly Gray and Ola Belle Hucks Gray.  She was a past employee of McClancy of Indian Land, SC.  She enjoyed cooking and planting flower.  She will be remembered the most for the love she had for her family.

Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Merritt; a son, John Merritt (Carmen); a sister, Beverly Starnes (Jimmy); and six grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, James Merritt; two brothers, Robert Gray and Butch Gray; and a sister, Nancy Austin.
