Ronald Vance Canty

Rock Hill - Mr. Ronald Vance Canty, 54, of 2500 River Bottom Road, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Catawba Ward, with Bishop Milton Osborn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Canty was a son of the late Heyward J. Canty, Sr. and Sara Potts Canty. He worked in the construction industry as a welder, carpenter and pipe fitter. He also was a potter, had a love for animals, and enjoyed gardening. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He was a dedicated family man. He was an Army Veteran and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Catawba Ward.

Surviving are his wife, Dawn W. Schutte Canty; one son, Quinlan R. Schutte Canty; one daughter, Amelia "Amy" B. Canty; two brothers, Heyward "Jackie" Canty, Jr. and his wife, Erika, and Timothy "Dean" Canty and his wife, Cindy; two sisters, Carolyn "Lynn" Canty and Angela "Ellen" Bridges and her husband, Bob; and one grandson, Logan Cole Canty.
