FORT MILL: Mr. Roland G. Viets, 77, of 614 Stone Village Drive died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at CMC in Pineville, NC.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Palmetto Funeral Home with Richard Muller officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from 2 pm 4 pm and again from 7 pm 9 pm.


Mr. Viets was born January 23, 1932 in Amityville Long Island, NY, a son of the late Richard W. Viets and Katherine Eich. He was a Veteran of the US Army and a Volunteer Fireman for Lindenhurst Fire Department, Lindenhurst, NY. He was also a member of the VFW in Fort Mill, SC.


Survivors include his wife, Catherine Viets of the home; daughters, Cathy Curley and Carolyn Lepore of Fort Mill, SC; Cynthia Viets of Clearwater, Fl; 5 grandchildren, Kevin, Cara, David, Vincent and Samantha; 1 great-grandchild, Caiden Tino and his four legged furry friend Bruno.
