Roger Lee Tipton, 77, was called home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2026. A cherished resident of Rock Hill, SC, he was born on December 4, 1948, in Irvine, Kentucky, to Clarence Tipton and Ella Rae (Watson) Tipton.

Roger found his comfort and strength in faith, recognizing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a devoted member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Growing up in Kentucky, Roger later made Jacksonville, FL, his home for over 40 years. He was a devoted single father to his daughter, Jennifer, and dedicated over 50 years to the construction industry. Roger enjoyed watching the Jacksonville Jaguars, listening to country music, and indulging in good Southern food, creating many joyful memories with family and friends along the way.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Jennifer Swanner, and son-in-law, Daniel Swanner; his grandson, Anthony Swanner; and granddaughter, Brynlee "Bri" Swanner. He is also remembered by his brother, John Tipton, and sister-in-law, Ruth Tipton, along with many cherished nieces and nephews, and family friend, Patricia Gauthier. Roger was welcomed into eternal rest by his wife, Deborah Williams Tipton; his mother, Ella Rae Tipton; his father, Clarence Tipton; and his siblings: Floareen Trusty, Ray Tipton, Ona Ritchie, Ruby Kelly, James Tipton, Carol Goins, Beth Duff, Jerry Tipton, and Edward Tipton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Eastside Baptist Church, 318 N Jones Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29730, on July 3rd at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tender Hearts of Rock Hill, SC, an organization Roger supported wholeheartedly.
