Robert Allen Preston

GREAT FALLS - Robert Allen Preston, 50., of Richburg Road, died April 24, 2016, at CMC Main in Charlotte.

Memorial services will be announced at a later time.

Born in Haverde Grace, MD., he is the son of William Patrick Preston Sr., and the late Sharon Elizabeth Lineberger Grue. Robert's passion was definitely his grandchildren, Jackson and Kaylee. He loved the work he did painting water towers with his good friend, Tommy Hopkins. He was a big fan of Jeff Gordon. He loved all of us very much and we loved him in return and we will dearly miss him. He has not been able to work due to a back injury for the last 20 years and suffered greatly. God gained another Angel. He also loved his longtime companion, Beate Blackmon. He had a special place in his heart for Amber Brook Preston, his niece and her children, Tessa, Junior, and Macy.

Robert is survived by his father, William Patrick Preston Sr.; his long time companion, Beate Blackmon; two stepsons, Chris and Justin; his brother, William Patrick "Skip" Preston, Jr. (Angela Oliver); his sisters, Amanda Preston and Allison McCurry "Glen"; and two grandchildren.
