Robert Edward Lordo, 86, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Anthony and Flora Lordo.

Bob was a proud graduate of the Sharon High School class of 1957, and he went on to complete his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University. Bob began his career at Peerless Electric in Warren, Ohio. He went on to serve as Vice President of Engineering for WER Industrial, Powertron, and Powertec Industrial Motors. Respected in his profession for his expertise in electric motors, he designed advanced systems for Walt Disney, the U.S. Navy, the Star Wars national defense system, and the plastic and mining industries. He was highly regarded throughout the motor industry for his vast knowledge and innovative designs.

Bob was a charter member of Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, where he actively served in many capacities in various church activities over the years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Grace; his loving children, Bob (Dorothy), Ron (Leanne), Linda (John), and Kristen; his adoring grandchildren, Sara (Isaiah), Matthew, Ross (Emily), Johnny (Hayley), Danielle, and Rob; and his precious great-grandchildren, Foster, Lilja, and Wilson. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill (Annette), Dick (Patricia), and Chuck (Betty), and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the many doctors and nurses associated with the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute for the wonderful care that he received over the course of many years.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:30pm on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road East, Fort Mill, SC 29715. The family will receive visitors at the church immediately following the mass.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Bob’s memory to the Friends of the Oratory, Rock Hill, SC. Information can be found online at Friends of the Oratory.
