Robert 'Bob' G. Engel

Robert "Bob" G. Engel, age 83, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012. Bob was born in Jackson, MI on January 11, 1929 to Arthur and Margaret Engel. He received his Bachelor's degree from Notre Dame College and served in the US Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War. After 30 years, Bob retired from Sears, including 15 years in Oshkosh, WI. He and his wife, Harriet moved to Gulf Shores, AL where they spent 15 years golfing, playing bridge and enjoying life. Two years ago they again relocated to Sun City in Indian Land, SC to be close to family and attended Our Lady of Grace Mission Church. Bob was very family oriented and loved his kids and grandkids. Preceding Bob in death are his parents and his brother, Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Harriet; their five children, Deborah (Thomas) Fellows, Steve (Lori) Engel, Joe Engel, Barbara (Terry) Guinn and John (Tracy) Engel; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 2, 2012 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill with Father John P. Giuliani, C.O. as celebrant. Family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM.
