Richard John Long

Rock Hill - Richard John Long, 61, of 4542 Turkey Lane, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 4 pm. Pastor Tom Tucker will be officiating.

Mr. Long was a son of the late James and Ruth Long. He was retired from CSI of Charlotte and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and an Awanas leader. Mr. Long was a life member of the North American Hunt Club; a lifetime member of the NRA; and a volunteer firefighter.

Surviving are his wife Fannie; two sons, Jonathan Long and Terry Lee Gibson; two daughters, Karen Ramsey and Susan Cox; his brother, Gene Long; his sister, Noreen Smith; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
