Richard William Lawrence passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022. "Rich" was born on December 21, 1940 to Clarence Lawrence and Ruth Bohrer Lawrence in Arnold, PA. Rich, also known as "Clyde" was a devoted husband, son, and "Gran". There was nothing he loved more than his best friend and adoring wife, of 44 years, Bonnie. And, his grandson Ian, who he affectionately named "I-Man". Rich was the type of guy who cared more about others than himself. When asked how he was doing, he would always reply "Finer than frog hair" because he didn't want anyone to be worried about him. Rich was a proud Navy Veteran, from 1958-1962 . He was stationed on the USS Yosemite (CAd-19) destroyer tender. He had the privilege of working on US Navy Ships communication antenna systems. He often spoke fondly of his Navy Days and could be found reminiscing with his friends. After the Navy, Rich spent his career with GE, Ericsson, and Glenayre in Charlotte, NC. Rich is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Bonnie, brother-in-law Patrick Evans, and grandson Ian and family. Rich was a very kind soul, who loved living. In his memory, remember to enjoy life to the fullest and love the people close to you. Rich was a member of the Tega Cay Men's Friday breakfast, the Tega Cay Veterans Association, and the Amateur Radio Society in Rock Hill, SC. He loved photography, enjoyed listening to his ham radio, and the trips to the ocean. We love you and will be sadly missed.
Your Honey, Bonnie, Pat, "I-Man" , Zoe, and "Mack", nicknamed by Gran (his great granddaughter, McKenna Grace). Memorial donations can be made to the American Legion, Post 34, in Rock Hill, SC
