Richard Dustin Hubbard, 44, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 13, 2025. Born on July 28, 1981, Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth and humor touched all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Karrie Hebeisen Hubbard; their three children, Kayla Hubbard (Brandon), Drake Hubbard (Kelitia), and Grayson Hubbard; his four-month-old grandson, Riley Davis, who brought him immense joy; his father, Jerry Edward Hubbard; sister, Mandie Sutton (Everett); two brothers, Michael Hubbard (Shaun) and Brandon Hubbard; four uncles, Jeffrey Brown (Sherri), Eddie Brown (Tammy), Scott Hubbard (Tyann), Chris Hubbard; two aunts, Kristi Hubbard and Brandi Hubbard; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A proud tribal member of the Catawba Indian Nation, Richard served on the tribe’s Election Committee and carried his heritage with pride. He built a successful career as an Industrial Compliance Manager for Industrial Compliance and Safety in Charlotte, North Carolina, where his dedication and work ethic were widely respected.
Richard had a vibrant spirit and a knack for bringing laughter into every room. He loved playing cards and board games with his kids, ensuring his home was always welcoming, clean, and well cared for. A true sports enthusiast, Richard was a devoted fan of the Carolina Panthers, the Carolina Gamecocks, and NASCAR.
Richard, whose friends fondly knew him as “Sleepy,” will be remembered for his ability to make others smile, his unwavering love for his family, and the joy he spread to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Brown Hubbard; grandmothers, Barbara Ann Benfield, Elaine Totherow Hill, Helen Elkins Hubbard; his grandfather, Hazel Edward Brown; and great-grandmother, Mattie “Boots” Hawkins.
The family will receive friends at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2025, 6:00PM–8:00PM.
Funeral service will be held at the Catawba Indian Nation Longhouse on Sunday, August 25, 2025, 2:00PM–4:00PM.
