Paul J. Gorst

Paul J. Gorst, 58 of Fort Mill, SC went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 5, 2025, surrounded by his wife Carrie, Daughter Sarah and close friend and pastor Dean Faulkner. 

Paul was born on December 5, 1966 in Liverpool, England to Charles R. Gorst and Margaret E. Owens. He grew up in Charlotte, NC with strong family values and tight knit friends, graduating from South Mecklenburg High School in 1985. 

In 2003 he married Caridad Diaz and together they had a daughter Sarah Rose and he helped raise step children, Olivia and Matthew and they built a life marked by love, devotion and with a faith based foundation. 

Paul was a painter and renovator but found true joy in spending time with family, friends and his church community. He was known for his loving and encouraging personality, his laugh and smile and lived a life that reflected the light of Christ. 

A beloved husband, father and friend, Paul treasured them all. Paul enjoyed golfing and watching sports. He always invested time in others watching games and sharing meals overall creating beautiful memories. 

Paul is survived by his wife Carrie, daughter Sarah, step children Olivia and Matthew. Grandchildren, Clover, Willard and Atlas. Brothers David and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Gorst.
