CHESTER - Patsy Bryant Young, 78, of 155 Saluda St., died Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Providence Hospital of Columbia, S.C..
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Bishop Craig Craze officiating. Burial will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood, S.C..
Born in Greenwood, Patsy was the daughter of the late Tommie Jones Bryant Sr. and the late Sara Agnes Harrelson Bryant. She was also the widow of the late Roy William Young.
A 1955 graduate of State High School in Greenwood, SC, Patsy (Pat) loved God, her church, her family and friends. Pat, Roy, and Renee moved to Chester from the Greenwood/Abbeville area in 1969. Music was always a big part of her life and a gift from God. She could hear a song only a couple times and then play it back on the piano by ear. A favorite past time would be traveling to nursing homes with her deceased husband Roy to play and sing for the patients. She and Roy loved to see people smile when playing. Pat was a joyful person who loved all people and was well known and loved by all who encountered her.If you knew Pat, you knew that she was a prim and proper lady. If you ever had the privilege (which most did) of being invited over to the house, you would know almost everything about her family. She was extremely proud and loved without end.
At 9:15 pm on October 17, 2015, we all lost someone extremely special and dear to us. She will always be present within us and will hold a very special place in our hearts!
She is survived by three daughters, Renee McMurray, Judy Y. Butler, and Lethea Y. Parker; one brother, Tommie Jones "TJ" Bryant Jr.; five grandchildren, Brandon Nelson, Cortni Nations, Ashley Nelson, Derek Nelson, and Jami Cameron; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Patsy is preceded in death by two sisters, Vivian J. Bishop and Darlene B. Rish.
The family will receive friends at the chapel of Whitesell Funeral Home in Rock Hill from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday night.
Fort Mill Funeral Home is serving the family.
