Nicholas Louis Gatti

Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather:

Born in Astoria, Queens to Pasquale Gatti and Aurora Gatti (Coletti) on January 9th, 1952, Nicholas Louis Gatti was raised to love and cherish life, values which he carried throughout his years. On December 29, 2025, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas Louis Gatti while surrounded by the love of his family. Nicholas was a deeply devoted husband to Ellen, a proud father to his daughters Jenna and Janine, and a cherished grandfather to Nicholas and Mary Aurora. He is also lovingly remembered by his son-in-law, David Rozmarin.

In the later years of his life, Nicholas faced the challenges of dementia and other medical hardships with quiet strength and dignity. Through it all, he remained “Dad” — a warm, steady presence whose love for his family never faded.

A lifelong baseball fan, Nicholas found endless joy in the game. Whether he was on the field himself or watching his beloved New York Mets, the sport brought him true happiness — a passion he proudly passed on to his family.

Music was another deep and lasting joy in Nicholas’s life. He had a special love for oldies — songs that carried memories, stories, and a sense of comfort. Listening to music with his brothers was especially meaningful to him, moments filled with laughter, nostalgia, and connection. Those songs became a soundtrack to his life, often bringing him peace and familiarity, and serving as a reminder of the bonds he held so dear. Music remained a source of joy and reflection for him throughout the years.

Of all the places close to his heart, Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains held the most special memories. Having spent his childhood summers there, he made sure to share that same magic with his family, ensuring those moments will be treasured for generations.

Nicholas’s love, humor, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest peacefully, reunited with friends and family who went before him, and never be forgotten.

On January 9th, 2026, what would have been Nicholas' 74th birthday, a service will be held in memory of his beautiful life and memories at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, SC at 11:30AM.
