It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Megan Elizabeth Smith, age 39. Megan was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, whose warmth, compassion, and love touched everyone who knew her. Megan is survived by her devoted parents, Melody Fanslau and Scott Fanslau, her two beautiful daughters, Corinne E. Smith and Reagan E. Smith, her brother Eric Fanslau(Sam Fanslau) and her paternal grandmother Katherine Fanslau. Additionally survived by special friend Jason Dixon and many extended family members and friends.
Megan’s children were the light of her life, and they were truly her world. Her dedication as a mother was unmatched, and her love for her girls knew no bounds.
Megan had a heart full of kindness and a spirit that brightened the lives of everyone around her. Her laughter was contagious, and her ability to listen and support others made her a true friend and confidant. She had a unique ability to make people feel seen and valued, and she will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know her. True to her giving spirit Megan was an organ donor through Sharing Hope in South Carolina.
As we navigate this heartbreaking loss, we take comfort in the countless memories Megan leaves behind. Her love for her family, her strength, and her deep connection to those she cared for will live on forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held June 21st in Adrian, MI at 1pm, at the First United Methodist Church 1245 West Maple Ave. Adrian, MI 49221, Pastor Alice Ford officiating.
