Mary Henry passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026 at the age of 95, in the comfort of a loving family home.

Born in Buffalo, New York, Mary rose from humble beginnings through quiet determination and careful stewardship of what little she had. Beginning with saving quarters earned at summer jobs at Crystal Beach, she built considerable resources that allowed her to support others throughout her life, with Food for the Poor remaining her favorite cause.

A lifelong artist, Mary was accomplished and prolific, working primarily in watercolor and charcoal. Her creative spirit brought beauty and meaning to her days and to those around her.

She also had a long, fulfilling career advising and mentoring high school students as a guidance counselor in North Charleston, SC. A sweet, caring guidance counselor remembered for her kindness, warm smile, and the many lives she touched.

Mary is survived by her three children, Bobbi Kimsey, Ray Henry, and John Henry, and their children, Cliff Kimsey, Glen Kimsey, Carson Henry, Ryan Henry, and Eryn Henry.

There will be no formal memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s honor may be made to Food for the Poor Food for the Poor or Hospice House of Rock Hill, SC Hospice House of Rock Hill, SC.
