Mary Francis Roberts Bennett

Edgemoor, SC - Mrs. Mary Francis Roberts Bennett, 91, died Sunday, December 22, 2024.

The family will receive friends Noon (12:00 pm) Monday, December 30, 2024, at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeff McWatters officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park. 

A native of Axton, Virginia, Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of the late James L. Roberts and Clara V. George Roberts. Mrs. Bennett will be remembered as a woman of grace and dignity. Mary was a quiet and gentle soul who was beautiful on the inside and out. Her heart and spirit had the capacity to shower love on everyone she knew. A Mother with never ending love for her children and a couple she gained along the way, who she loved like her own. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and it provided her with an ever present comfort that was unbreakable. 

Her passions were listening to bluegrass gospel music, reading, puzzles and watching game shows. She also liked an occasional Pina Colada. 

Surviving are her three children, Athena Lindsay, Jerry “Mike” Bennett, and Teresa Haggins; her two bonus children, Sonya Berry and Susan Atkinson; seven grandchildren, Julia Jones, Junior Catoe, Robbie, Catoe, Nicolas Lindsay, Phillip Lindsay, Christy Locklair, and Lisa Montgomery; two brothers, Samuel Roberts and Wayne Roberts; a sister, Velma Mae Benson (Doll); six great grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Homer Bennett; her eldest child, Cathrine Ann Costner; three brothers, JB Roberts, Drewey Roberts, and Tommy Roberts; and two sisters, Dorothy Roberts Hairfield and Anna Lee Roberts Massey.
