Mary Sherer Bailey

Mrs. Mary Sherer Bailey, 81, of 902 Treasure Court, Fort Mill, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Born on January 7, 1944, Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of the late Faye Rhodes Sherer and Pressley Reid Sherer. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Jerry Wayne Bailey, who departed in 2007; her sister, Lutie Sherer Culp of Edgemoor; and her brother, Dr. James Pressley Sherer of Charlotte.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by her loving children, Meredith L. Cornwell of Fort Mill and Ashley Cornwell Brittain (Darren) of Chester, along with her treasured grandson, Colin Brooks Nutter, son of Meredith Cornwell.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a woman of profound faith. She dedicated herself to caring for her loved ones and lived her faith through compassion, service, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through the lives she touched.

A graveside service for the family will be held on Friday, January 2, at 2 p.m. at Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Dr. John Nowaczewski of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Rock Hill.
