Mary V. Anderson

Mary Valente Anderson of West Haven, Connecticut, peacefully passed away on May 18, 2025. She was born in Jamaica Queens, New York on February 7, 1934. The family settled in West haven a short time later, where she remained a proud resident her whole life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony C. Valente and Sarah Franco Valente. She is survived by her daughters Gloria Anderson Proto and Marcia Anderson Baker (husband Randy Baker), grandchildren Michael Scranton and Renee Proto, great grandchildren Justin, Jason, Sarah, Skylar, and Ryan. She was a sister to her three siblings Gloria Valente, Patricia Moran, and Anthony Valente(deceased).

Mary worked for the West Haven Board of Education, Helicopter Support, and Armstrong Rubber. She volunteered at senior centers and adored children of all ages. She loved dancing and the many social activities in West Haven, especially on the boardwalk at the beach. She was truly a social butterfly who never met a stranger. You could often find Mary at Biagetti’s Restaurant visiting with her extended family. Her fun-loving spirit and outgoing personality will be missed.

A celebration of her life is being planned.
