Marian White Cherry, 86, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on June 27, 2026, at the Wayne T Patrick Hospice House.

Marian was born on May 13, 1940, in Catawba, SC, to Emma Cunningham White and Melvin White.

She retired from General Tire, where she worked in Human Resources.

She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and devotion to her family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Ibra Richardson; her children, Nicolas D Cherry (Sonya Mattox), Juan D Cherry, and Arin D Cherry. Her grandchildren, Justin Cherry (Leigh Ann), Colin Cherry, Christian “CJ” Cherry, William Avery Cherry, and Emma Cherry. Her great-grandchildren, Alexis Cherry, Stephon Cherry, Cameron Cherry, Donnie Cherry, Madison Cherry, and Julian Cherry; and her great-great-grandchild, Violet Rose Cherry. Her niece, Shirley Archer, and nephews Lenard Richardson, Marvin Richardson, and Reggie Ferguson. 

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Cunningham White and Melvin White; her husband, Thomas Gene Cherry; and her brothers, Kenneth White and John Ferguson.

A walkthrough will be held at 10 am on July 11, 2026, at Mount Prospect Church in Rock Hill, SC.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am on July 11, 2026, at Mount Prospect Church in Rock Hill, SC.

The burial will be held at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service.
