Lionel Ashley Hooper was born in Shreveport, Louisana, but grew up in Houston, Texas, to Lionel Albion Hooper and Elizabeth Wilson Hooper, with a younger sister Martha Elizabeth Hooper Greenberg. Ashley began a long career with Fluor Construction and retired in Charlotte, NC from Duke Fluor Daniel as Vice President of procurement. After a 2 year sabbatical, he was called back to a Procurement position with Shaw Construction Company. He retired after four years. Ashley was a thoughtful, insightful, kind, generous, responsible provider. He was a "Quiet Man". His love for his children and his "inherited" children by marriage was always with an undercurrent of love. He leaves a lasting impression of being present in every situation good or bad. He is dearly loved leaving behind his devoted wife Joanne Brazil Hooper, his son, Troy, his wife Deena with grandsons, Wesley and Benjamin of Austin, Texas. His daughter Kristen Stanton, grandson Austin Stanton of Huston. Granddaughter, Allison Stanton; step-son Ted William Brazil Jr, Janet Steel- Stephen Gregory and Dina Brazil of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Step- granddaughter Ashley Brazil Roberson, husband Kyle and Grier Landry and K.J of Uniontown, Ohio. A sister Martha "Marty" Hooper Greenberg of Huston. Family requests memorials be sent to St John United Methodist Church Rock Hill.
