A native of Concord, NC, Mrs. Dabbs, was a daughter of the late Jerry Dorman and Frances Auten Dorman. Mrs. Dabbs left a legacy of the Lord Jesus Christ to not just her family but to countless people. She was the first in her family to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior which caused a ripple effect that extended through generations. She was responsible for thousands coming to Christ and 70 surrendering to the call of ministry. Mrs. Dabbs was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was always her greatest treasure. She lived her life to the fullest in love, loyalty, and laughter. Although she will be missed, we know that Heaven is real. She left this challenge to everyone that all would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Legacy is not what you leave for your children but what you leave in your children, and she left a wealth that cannot be measured on this earth. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman, “her children arise up, and called her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Surviving are her three sons, Timmy Cope (Gail) of Indian Land, SC, Dr. Ricky Cope (Robin) of Great Falls, SC, Jeffrey Dabbs (Valerie) of Fort Mill, SC; a brother, Jerry Wayne Dorman (Peggy) of Kershaw County; twin sister, Brenda Dabbs (Clinton) of Heath Springs, SC; eight grandchildren, Raquel Dill, Lauren Craven, Renee Barnhart, Tyler Dabbs, Taylor Staton, Justin Cope, Rodney Godwin, and Spencer Dabbs; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Eugene Dabbs; sister, Jewel Passmore; son, Eugene Dabbs, Jr.
