Obituary

Leonard Roy Polburn, only child of Walter and Marian (Blakslee) passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family. He grew up in Thompson, Ohio. He also lived in Michigan, Ashland, OH, and the Carolinas. He worked for Uniroyal Chemical for 40 years. He was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed his church family. He was a wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humor.

Len was married to Rita (Krebs) for 62 years. Rita preceded him in death. Together they raised two sons, Rick (Patti) and Aaron.

Len found love again and married Barbara (Sisson). They were married for nearly 15 years.

He was a proud grandfather to Justin (Rachel), Summer (Dave) Kish, and Jarod (Daniela). Leonard’s family continued to grow with the blessing of great-grandchildren: Brittany, Kaitlyn, Jonathan, Michael; Brendan and Daniel Braaten; Alec, Olivia, and Dylan Kish; and Thomas, Isa, and Leah.

Leonard will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on March 28, 2026 in the Family Life Center of Central Church in Charlotte, NC
