Rock Hill, SC - Leon (Hosee) Blake, Jr , 93, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

A native of York County, SC Mr. Blake was a son of the late Leon Blake, Sr. and Sally Dunlap Kennedy. He will be remembered as a man who loved to watch NASCAR. He also enjoyed playing golf and going on walks. He was handy possessing the ability to fix cars and other items that need attention. He will also be remembered as a sharp dresser. He was active at his church, St. Matthews AME Zion, where he served as a trustee and was a member of the choir. He was an expert at frying fish at the church functions.

Surviving are two daughters, Veronica Carter and Jennifer Sims (Sean); six siblings, Louise Robinson, Lily Blake, Willie B. Barcco, Gene Blake, Ronald Kennedy, and Donald Kennedy. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen James, Phyllis Massey, Clara Byers; two brothers, Earnest Blake and Jeff Blake.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at St. Matthews AME Zion Church, 539 Lige Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 with the Rev. Brittany White officiating. Burial will be in Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
