Katherine F. Salvador, a resident of Pineville, North Carolina and Tega Cay, South Carolina, for more than sixteen years, passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday, October 18, 2026, after a fulfilling 102 years of life.

She was born on September 20, 1924 in Central City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Carmella Nask and Ambrose Zen, and relocated to Mamaroneck, New York at three years of age along with her mother’s ten brothers and sisters. After graduating from Mamaroneck High School in 1943 Kay married Victor Salvador and soon after added two children, Victor, Jr. and Kathleen, to her very large loving extended Italian family. She was a resident of Mamaroneck for more than 80 years and on September 20, 2024, her 100th birthday, the Village of Mamaroneck proclaimed the day “Kay Salvador Day” in her honor.

For many years, Kay was the chief bookkeeper for several Grand Union Supermarkets in Westchester County NY. She was a lifetime member of the Columbiettes of the Knights of Columbus. In retirement, she was even more devoted to her immediate and extended family, a regular visitor to Florida’s Walt Disney World, a ferocious card player and a voracious reader.

Katherine Zen Salvador was predeceased by her husband, Victor Salvador, Sr., her son, Victor Salvador, Jr., her parents, Carmella and Ambrose Zen, her stepfather, Antonio DeLeo, her younger brothers, Ambrose Zen and Martin Zen, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Kathleen Salvador, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Katherine Salvador lived a full life and was a loving woman of strong character. She was always happy, always smiling and always playful. She will always be remembered and forever loved!
