Obituary

Justin Ryan Meenaghan, 18, of Fort Mill, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2026, from injuries sustained in a tragic motor vehicle accident. He entered this world on May 12, 2008, in Charlotte, born to Kevin and Michelle Meenaghan. Justin recently graduated from Catawba Ridge High School, with York Technical college credits on May 29, 2026. He was eager to go to Indiana for a mechanic internship with Dukes Outdoor World.

He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. Everyone who was in Justin’s life had their own special name for him. Though his life was far too short, "baby bird" lived it with passion, determination, and a spirit that could never be contained. He was a talented mechanic who loved working on vehicles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and ATVs. He wasn’t afraid to tackle any challenge, whether he was at the gym or under the hood of a car, he found joy in fixing things and took great pride in doing the job himself. He had a shy personality, a fearless heart, and a stubborn determination that made him unforgettable. He lived life on his own terms, and those who knew him couldn’t help but love him for it.

More than anything, Justin will be remembered for the joy he brought to others, his hardworking nature, his adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His smile, laughter, and larger-than-life personality will remain in our hearts forever. He leaves behind a family who loved him beyond words and countless friends whose lives were made better simply by knowing him. While our hearts are shattered by this unimaginable loss, we find comfort in the memories he gave us and the lasting impact he made in just 18 short years.

Though we will never understand why this tragedy happened, we know that love does not end with goodbye. Justin’s memory will live on in every engine that roars to life, every open road, and every story shared by those who loved him.

Forever Loved. Forever Missed. Forever Our Justin.

Justin is survived by his loving parents, Kevin and Michelle Meenaghan; his siblings, Jessica Meenaghan, Jacob Meenaghan, and Chris Sasser; and he was a proud uncle to his nephew Axel Sasser and his niece Adalynn Sasser. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Mike and Judy Spangler, Barbara Meenaghan; his aunts and uncles: John and Kimberly (Kimmy) McGee, Rob Spangler, John and Debbie Meenaghan, Joe and Wendy Meenaghan, Michael Meenaghan; as well as his many cousins. He is reunited in heaven with Dr. Michael Meenaghan.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Justin's life. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, South Carolina. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 11:00 a.m. A Funeral procession will follow to Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4858 McConnells Highway, York, South Carolina.
