Joshua Brian Mann

January 16, 1982 — November 25, 2025

Indian Land, SC

Joshua Brian Mann went to Heaven November 25, 2025, following his extended battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Wellman. Josh was born on January 16, 1982, in Marshall, Minnesota. He graduated in 2000 from East High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and enlisted in the United States Navy in September of that year. During his service, Josh completed two tours of duty, including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He achieved the rank of Third Class Petty Officer and Aviation Handler. While serving aboard the USS Nassau, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his selfless devotion to duty in keeping with the highest standards and traditions of the United States Naval Services. He was honorably discharged in May 2005.

Most men leave the armed forces with experience and stories to tell; Josh left with that and with lifelong friends. Those friends introduced him to the love of his life, Anita Lynn (Dailey), whom he married on May 28, 2005. Together they have two children: a wonderful, caring son, Max Teagan, and a fun, feisty daughter, Logan Harper—all qualities they shared with their father. There was no greater pride or joy in Josh’s life than his wife and children. Together they enjoyed spending time with family, playing games, traveling, and—perhaps Josh’s favorite—building LEGO.

Josh was passionate about life and about living it as fully as he could with his family, especially over the last two years following his diagnosis. During that time, you could not find a more devoted husband or a better father. Josh was also deeply devoted to his many friends. One especially dear friend, who remained by his side through it all, was Michael McDowell. Mike, his wife Jami, and their family have been a tremendous source of friendship and support for all of Josh’s family, and they are loved very much in return.

A celebration of life for Josh will be held for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josh’s memory to the Take the Trip Foundation, so that other families can make memories just as Josh was able to with his own: Take The Trip Foundation.
