Joseph Leslie Monteleone, “Joe Monty”, 82, of Fort Mill, SC, and formerly of New York City, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. He was born August 16, 1942, in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Santo and Rosalie Monteleone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Angelo Monteleone, wife Rosalinda Monteleone, son Joseph C. Monteleone, and granddaughter, Olivia Noelle Ehresman.
Joe was a proud veteran who served four years in the US Army, was a retired NYC Transit Police Officer, and continued working to retire for the second time as armed Security for many New York companies and prestigious jewelers. Joe loved his family, good food, wine, Doo Wop Music, an occasional cigar, and to reminisce about the old days. He was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. Joe loved to read, especially The Bible, and wrote of his experiences, knowledge, beliefs, and advice daily.
Joe was many things to many people: a good friend, a good neighbor, softball and baseball coach when we were younger, but most importantly, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and most recently great grandpa.
Joseph leaves behind a lasting legacy to be cherished by his surviving children, Michael Monteleone and Jennifer Ehresman, along with their loving spouses, Ornela and Ralph, daughter-in-law Diana Brown, his wonderful grandchildren Vanessa, Sarah, Joshua, Giada, Tiana, and Alexa Rose, and his great-grandson Silas. Along with a host of long-time friends and new ones he made along the way.
A Memorial Service will be held by the family on May 31, 2025, at 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home, Fort Mill.
Please come and join us in saying goodbye to our dear father, grandfather, and friend.
