John Richard Reynolds (Rick), 71, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away peacefully at his home on August 29, 2026.

Born in Lancaster, SC, on August 4, 1955, Rick was the son of the late John and Pauline Reynolds. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the IT industry. Outside of work, Rick was a devoted, lifelong, and characteristically pessimistic South Carolina Gamecocks fan, sticking by his team through thick and thin with his trademark humor. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill, and as a final act of generosity, gave the gift of life as an organ donor.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cindy Reynolds of 44 years, and his sons, Chris (Heather) and Steven. He was a proud grandfather to Ellie-May, Oliver, and Henry. A service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home in Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends following the service with a private burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Rick’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.
